  • Language requirements – A large number of Masters degrees taught in English are more accessible to international students. However, students need to provide language test score (TOEFL/IELTS) if neither English or German is their first language and it is solely depended on the course. German programmes will normally require international applicants to pass required level of German language and certified through examinations like the TestDaFor DSH.

English Programmes will not require proficiency in German. But as a student in Germany, you want to interact with people, do internships, travel through the country and make the best of your time there. So, learning German is a great advantage.

In Germany, every University or study programme has a set of criteria for admitting students. It is advisable to check the University website, and programme to find out the exact admission requirements.

A four-year Bachelor degree from countries like India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal etc is treated at par with a German bachelor degree and most universities accept application for masters provided student’s satisfy other criteria. Students with three-year Bachelor degree, do contact with admission coordinator before applying.

German government offers substantial financial support to cover student’s living costs on need-based or merit-based. Scholarships for international students are also available from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).
